We were finally successful and arrived Paris after 2:30. Google took us on a circuitous route of what was suppsed to be an "easy 15 minute walk." Oh, but there's a big hill between here and there that wasn't mentioned. Hmmm.
So we walked for a while and the last part of our journey involved climbing the equivalent of five flights of steep steps. Thank goodness the place was right near the steps.
We got settled and decided to have tea I our hotel before walking to the other side of Sacre Coeur to find a dinner place. Bob had an espresso -- he's such a cosmopolitan guy after having espresso in Germany!
After another massive flight of steps up to the church, the skies opened up. We kept walking toward our destination, but the place was closed for renovations. 😒 So we ended up having some wine and cheese and eventually having dinner at a place right in the tourist area. The food was quite good, and there was some decent people-watching while we sat there.
Bob was sort of posing for a mug shot.
And of course we had traditional fare. We started with foie gras.
Bob had tripe.
After dinner the rain had stopped, and we had a great view from the steps.
Suzie and Bob tried to stay awake to change our sleep patterns by having a drink at the place across the street. We had a fun time with two German women, mother and daughter. They were really funny. Bed at 11:00.
